I normally don't respond to sassy comments, but increasingly, I find the ones where people assume developing this software is easy and should be free/cheap annoying because it affects our team morale. If the basic free version works for you, then fine, but don't give them your subscription dollars. I hadn't realized the current state of the company when I posted this (and hadn't been recently using my surface for a lot of PDFs). Xodo I believe had a few more options here like a lower-contrast mode where the background was yelowish and the text was dark gray-so it still looked like a normal page but it didn't shine brightly into your eyes.Įdit: fuck Drawboard. I don't like it as much if I'm just looking at a PDF while using keyboard and mouse (I'll often just open them in Edge then), but it is great for reading long reportsīoth also have a "night" or "dark" mode that will invert the colors on the PDF so you have black background and white text which is nice for reading at night. I used Xodo for a while and it was fine, but eventually I grabbed Drawboard when it was on sale and I've been using it ever since for reading in tablet mode on my surface pro.
